Privacy Policy

Case Tracker — immigration case status tracker. Last updated 14 August 2026.

Case Tracker does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no server operated by us. Everything you enter stays on your device.

The short version: your receipt numbers and case history are stored only on your device. The app talks directly to official U.S. government websites to check your status, and to nobody else.

What the app stores

All of this is written to the app's private storage area on your device. It is not transmitted to us, because there is no "us" to transmit it to: the app has no backend. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Where your data goes

To check a case, the app contacts the official government service that publishes that status — for example egov.uscis.gov (USCIS), travel.state.gov and ceac.state.gov (U.S. Department of State), flag.dol.gov (U.S. Department of Labor). Your case identifier is sent to those services exactly as it would be if you typed it into their website yourself, because that is precisely what the app is doing on your behalf.

Those government sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Some of them use security checks (such as anti-bot verification) that may occasionally require you to complete a step yourself; that step is theirs, not ours.

What we never do

Notifications

If you enable notifications, they are generated locally on your device when the app detects that a case status changed. They are not push notifications sent from a server, and their contents never leave your device.

Backups you create

You can export a backup file of your cases. That file is encrypted with a 6-digit PIN the app generates and shows you once. Where the file goes afterwards is entirely your choice — AirDrop, Files, a messaging app, your own cloud storage. We never receive it, and we cannot recover the PIN if it is lost.

Donations

The app includes an optional link to a donation page hosted by Ko-fi. Donating is voluntary, unlocks nothing in the app, and opens in your browser outside the app. If you choose to donate, that transaction is handled entirely by Ko-fi and its payment processors under their own privacy policies; we never see your payment details.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children.

Not affiliated with the U.S. government

Case Tracker is an independent application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or provided by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Labor, or any other government agency. Always confirm official information through the agency's own website.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. Because the app collects nothing, material changes are unlikely.
